ENDORPHINS!!
Just got back from the best run ever! I ran along the Charles (in Boston) and it was PERFECT weather. I just started bringing water on my runs that are longer then 5 mi and I found it makes ALL the difference. Does anyone else bring water or anything else with them when they run? I was thinking about starting to bring gu or something like it but I'm not running far enough to need it yet. Any suggestions?

Your original post was a few weeks ago but I figured I'd chime in based on my experience. Water is essential but it's hard to carry with when you're running outdoors. Anything under 6 or 7 miles I'll carry a small bottle, like one from a hydration belt, in my hand. If it's a longer run I'll wear the belt.
For gu, beans, moons and so on, I don't use them for anything under 7 miles. Rule of thumb - once you hit an hour, if you know you'll be out for another 30+ minutes, then do the bean/gu/moons. I just ran a 1/2 marathon and chewed on a few moons once I reached the 6.5 mark - however, even in the first couple miles of that race I was running over discarded packaging so use your own judgement.
